I recently compiled a complete list of all the mods I've made to my MR2, and thought I would
include it here for reference.
Exterior mods:
Hella E-code headlamps with 80W/100 bulbs
Hella dual note horns
87 - 89 tail lights with new gaskets
89 LED wing
87 - 89 engine side scoop
tinted rear quarter windows and rear window
Interior mods:
true short shifter
aftermarket am/fm/cd/mp3 player with USB port
Sony in-dash 4" speakers and 5 1/4" rear speakers
white face glow gauges
black roof liner and sun visors
brake system:
87 - 89 brake upgrade
57 mm front calipers
Raybestos PGD pads at all corners
Russell braided steel lines
rebuilt master cylinder
clutch:
replaced with an Exedy stock replacement unit - was still in like-new condition when I installed the
6 speed a year ago
braided steel clutch hose between the frame and slave cylinder
9 pound (4.7KG) chrome-moly flywheel
suspension:
Suspension Techniques gray lowering springs
Suspension Techniques adjustable front and rear bars with polyurethane bushings
Brand new yellow Koni Adjustable struts
new upper front strut mounts
front strut tower brace - correct one to use with the sunroof
polyurethane bushings at all pivot points
17" wheels - 19 pounds, forged billet 2 piece polished fluted swept Boyds "one of a kind" wheels
Goodyear Eagle 205/40/ZR17 GS-D3 tires with lifetime balance and road hazard warranty
battery moved to frunk - also replaced the battery with a mini-sized 19 pound lawn & garden battery
rebuilt the rack with a Quaiffe 2.5 turn lock-to-lock rack and pinion
replaced all 4 ball joints and all the front tie rod ends
custom alignment

Mandrel bent 2 1/4" polished stainless system with high flow cat and Magnaflow polished
stainless muffler
Engine:
recently replaced the top end with a custom head
Toda valve springs
large port cams
adjustable cam gears
smallport intake
new timing belt
new low-drag water pump
new oil pump and pickup
been using Mobil1 since I bought the car 3 years ago
underdrive pulleys for alternator and water pump
new belts
Acell Supercoil
10MM spiral core wires
**previous (original) owner replaced all the cooling system hoses from to rear a year before I
bought the car.
He also bought a brand new distributor about the same time to cure the oil leak it had.**
Transmission:
replaced the 5 speed with a 20V Blacktop 6 speed transmission in December 2007 (best thing
I've done to the car yet!)
